- Manage design projects:
- Conduct bid walks in the field with our customers, trade partners and associated design partners; including walks inside of buildings with active cleanroom protocols.
- Communicate project scopes, timelines, expectations and deliverables for each project to the design team.
- Drive the project design phase from initial funding through Issue for Construction.
- Drive the Project SDC/CA phase from time of construction kick off (construction by others) through final redline incorporation.
- Manage project design review meetings.
- Lead field walks with staff and customers for issue resolution, including walks inside of buildings with active cleanroom protocols.
- Coordinate design team alignment both internally with ID’s engineers and designers and with our external design and engineering partner companies.
- Coordinate with BIM modelers and Field technicians when required on your projects.
- Protect ID’s interests with At Risk Notices and Design Change Orders.
- Prepares and submits pay applications and/or coordinates invoices to customers
- Negotiate and issue sub-contract and vendor contracts and purchase orders
- Creation of design project micro schedules.
- QAQC of all design documents prior to release at each design milestone.
- Establish tracking logs for project deliverable documents, ARN’s, Info Need logs, Checklists, Meeting minutes, Field data requests, RFIs, Submittals etc.
- Track high level finances and report out in management/financial meetings on progress, status and health (financial and team motivation) for your projects.
- Coordinate with internal Safety and the Customer EHS reps to ensure designs are compliant and our team is operating in a safe environment.
- Participate in creation of process documentation.
- Participate in interview process for potential design team candidates.
- Participate in the review process for current design team members.
- Requirements:
- On site presence. This is an in person, hands on role and there is no opportunity for remote work.
- Accountability – you must be willing to own your projects and their performance.
- A working understanding of the Design and Engineering role the A/E plays in the overall cycle of design and construction.
- 3 years plus of project management work on design projects required, BIM project management preferred.
- Excellent time management skills with a strong work ethic and ability to get / remain organized throughout the life cycle of a project.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to maintain information confidentiality (IP Protocols).
- Strong written and oral communication skills are essential, you will be leading in person meetings that will have very large audiences.
- Experience with design and construction specs.
- Ability to work with a diverse workforce and a global customer, with no hesitations to work across cultural boundaries.
- Willingness to mentor and train junior staff.
- Big Plus preferences:
- Advanced Technology experience (Semiconductor / pharmaceutical / precision manufacturing or R&D)
- Experience with Revit/Navisworks/AutoCAD (experience with VDC projects), ability to fluidly navigate Navis Models with clients and partners.
- A working understanding of Level of Detail (LOD) related to modeling scopes.
- Experience working with the Intel Corporation and their ILCC contract language.
- Experience working with high value, complex projects that involve Lase Scan / Point cloud data, Field Technicians, Modelers, Integrators, Teams made of multiple companies, external safety compliance stakeholders and the managing of intellectual property.
- PMP certification, PEP creation / modification.
- Experience with BIM 360/AutoDESK BIM Collaborate Pro and Bluebeam studio sessions.
- BS in Engineering, Architecture, Project Management; experience will be considered ILO Education for the right candidate.
- Construction management experience.
- Understanding of Civil NEE coordinate systems.
