- Evaluate, release, maintain, and expedite production orders in a manner that will best support assembly line schedule dates as well as satisfying service parts demand requirements.
- Verify material availability of all components prior to releasing work orders to production.
- Establish priorities for all assigned work centers and work closely with manufacturing operations to ensure adherence to priorities.
- Perform duties associated with machine serial number assignments and factory orders distribution.
- Evaluate planning item branch data in JDE on a regular basis, ensuring that all planning-related parameters (planner code, order policy, lean mfg flag, etc…) are accurately maintained.
- Analyze inventories to maintain lowest possible inventory level while still meeting demand requirements. Evaluate inventory regularly to identify slow-moving and obsolete items and recommend appropriate disposition.
- Communicate all issues, both current and potential future, that will have a significant impact on the plant scheduling of operations.
- Process engineering change notices for timely, accurate, and cost effective implementation into production.
- Develop, maintain, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) that will drive continuous improvements in production planning processes.
- Perform other duties, assignments, and special projects that may be required from time to time.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of three years related experience
- Production Planning and Inventory Control techniques.
- Knowledge of MRP functionality including, but not limited to: action messages, netting functionality, pegging, and independent/dependent demand.
- Knowledge of pull systems.
- Proven knowledge of BOM usage, structures, and where-used functionality.
- Must be a good communicator, work well with people, and be able to work in a fast paced, continually changing/improving environment.
