- Design and develop solutions to complex applications problems, system administration issues, or network concerns.
- Perform systems management and integration functions.
- Apply fundamental concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments.
- Diagnosing and resolving issues related to system performance, functionality, and security.
- Using shell scripting to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
- Creating, running and managing Ansible playbooks.
- Monitoring system health, performance, and resource utilization, and taking corrective actions as needed.
- Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone and printers) and /or occasional Loud noise (airfield, large equipment).
- Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.

- Bachelor's Degree in STEM related field plus 2 years minimum of server experience //OR// 6 years of experience supporting physical and virtual Linux Servers in lieu of a degree.
- Must have experience in LINUX Systems Administration.
- Experience running RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) and Ubuntu OS, including installation, configuration, patching and troubleshooting.
- Must have practical experience in using command-line tools, managing files and directories, and performing common system administration tasks.
- Familiar with core Linux concepts, including user accounts, permissions, file systems, and basic networking.
- Experience installing, updating, and troubleshooting software, including applications, services, and tools that are commonly used within government environment.
- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewall configuration. The ability to troubleshoot network issues and ensure secure communication is crucial.

- Understanding of Python for automating common system tasks, scripting within the command line.
- Must be able to navigate directories, manipulate files, manager users and configure permissions.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, such as AWS and Azure.
- Working with other team members and users to resolve problems and improve system performance.
- Strong customer service, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE-Q Clearance.
- Ability to pass a federal background investigation including fingerprinting.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Professional proficiency in English is required.
- Ability to access federal facilities in compliance with Real ID. More information about Real ID can be found here:
- Current, active DOE-Q or L Clearance or Active DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance.
- Master’s Degree.
- 4 years LINUX server experience.
- Any applicable certifications regarding RHEL.
- CompTIA Security+ certification (or would need to obtain within 6 months of start).
- Any applicable certifications involving AWS, or cloud security.
