This position requires a California Registered Technician who will operate under Pharmacist Supervision. The primary responsibilities include packaging, preparation, and compounding of oral medications, intravenous medications, as well as chemotherapy/biohazard medications. Additionally, the role involves implementing and maintaining control procedures, conducting inventory management, and overseeing stock control.As a successful candidate, you will:
  • Ensure compliance with USP 797 & 800 at all times.
  • Utilize proper aseptic technique for all pharmaceutical mixing.
  • Order, receive, and maintain accurate medication inventory.
  • Coordinate with Specialty Pharmacies or manufactures for timely deliveries of medications for infusion.
  • Performs routine daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning as required.
  • Procure and maintain supplies necessary for daily mixing operation.
  • Prescription order entry and process.
  • Coordination and submission of prior authorizations.
  • Determination of patient's prescription benefits and seeks appropriate financial assistance when applicable.
  • Order, receive and maintain accurate medication inventory.
  • Assist with routing and release of prescriptions to the appropriate pharmacy
  • Properly label and fills prescription drugs.
QualificationsYour qualifications should include:Minimum Education:
  • High School or equivalent or
  • Post High School vocational/specialized training or
  • Graduation from a foreign school of Pharmacy
Minimum Experience:
  • 3 or more years of performing related duties as a pharmacy technician
Required Certification/Licensure/Training:
  • Licensed as a Pharmacy Technician with the California State Board of Pharmacy
  • Certification Board (PTCB), preferred
Additional Information:
  • Hourly Per Diem Rate: $31.25
