- Technical Course Development
- Consult with Subject Matter Experts across Ping Identity to create engaging, hands-on, task-based training for specific technical audiences.
- Coordinate continually to identify evolving needs and proactively incorporate learner feedback from survey tools into new training development.
- Develop comprehensive learning materials including student training guides, workbooks, lab environments, certification questions, and instructor presentation decks, aligning with required delivery modalities (instructor-led, video, e-learning, and live virtual delivery).
- Build and configure Ping Identity products to precisely capture the steps required for student lab exercises.
- Ensure top-tier quality by thoroughly testing and debugging all training deliverables (books, presentations, and labs).
- Manage course development projects in alignment with the Senior Manager, Certification and Curriculum Development.
- Maintain and enhance existing content, making necessary adjustments and releasing timely updates, including incorporating learner feedback from survey results.
- Support and mentor junior developers and contractors where appropriate.
- Lead test (alpha/beta) events for developed content and deliver Train-The-Trainer sessions for the global instructor network where applicable, in coordination with the Global Delivery Management team.
- Key Stakeholders you will be partnering with: Subject Matter Experts, Senior Manager, Certification and Curriculum Development, Global Delivery Management team, junior developers, and contractors.
- Features, Products, Processes that the person will be responsible for: Ping Identity customer courses, certifications, workshops, student training guides, workbooks, lab environments, certification questions, instructor presentation decks.
- Building xxx, Driving yyy: Building engaging, hands-on, task-based training; Driving the development and maintenance of high-quality technical curriculum content.
- Day to day responsibilities: Consulting with SMEs, developing learning materials, building and configuring Ping Identity products for labs, testing and debugging deliverables, managing projects, maintaining content, supporting junior developers, leading test events, and delivering Train-The-Trainer sessions.
- Learner Support
- Provide expert technical assistance by answering student inquiries over the Ping Identity Training ticketing system for courses where you are the curriculum lead.
- Assist authorized instructors with delivering the created content when questions arise.
- Support technical marketing initiatives for Ping Identity Training with content (Q&As, webinars, social, short videos).
- Course Delivery
- Be prepared to deliver courses for which you are the SME to internal and external audiences as an instructor.
- Engage in the Education Consultancy process where required for potential private event deliveries to understand customer needs for the events and provide guidance on content to be covered.
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science or Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience with technical training learning material design and development, including online virtual labs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the responsibilities of software developers, integrators, and system administrators.
- Strong writing, editing, and content structuring skills.
- System administration experience of Windows, CentOS Linux, or other Linux/UNIX related operating systems.
- Experience of TCP/IP networking, load balancing, REST, Virtual and Cloud Machines, and network security (SSL/TLS).
- Master's Degree.
- Experience of instructional design.
- Ability to transform complex technical information into engaging and effective training.
- Ability to review created content from a student's point of view.
- Technical training instructor experience.
- Ability to use technical content development authoring tools such as iSpring and Markdown.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written - as well as editing and proofreading skills.
- Good time management and project management skills.
- Ability to work both independently with your own initiative and within a team environment with strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work as part of a distributed team across multiple time zones.
- Knowledge of PingIDM and/or PingDS.
- Experience using Markdown, HTML, git (or other source control systems), and mind-mapping tools.
- System administration experience at certification level.
- Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, SAML 2.0, OIDC, and LDAP Data Stores.
- Experience of Ping Identity Platform software.
- Some knowledge of development/scripting, ideally in JavaScript/Java/Groovy.
- Awareness of DevOps best practices including deployment automation tools, CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Awareness of at least one of the major cloud vendor platforms: Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, or Microsoft Azure.
