Job Title: Production Engineer
Job DescriptionThis position is for a First Line Support Production Engineer with an innovative attitude to work in the Production Engineering department in Wilton. The candidate will work with cross-sector employees to provide rapid response to resolve disturbance notices related to engineering issues and perform the engineering steps listed in the production operator dashboard (POD) to support output.Responsibilities
  • Spend about 75% of time in the cleanroom providing direct support to production processes and troubleshooting.
  • Provide efficient response to troubleshoot mechanical assembly issues.
  • Provide efficient response to troubleshoot flow and thermal issues.
  • Provide efficient response to troubleshoot module test and final qualification issues.
  • Provide efficient response to troubleshoot tooling and test stand issues.
  • Develop OCAPs, Fishbones, and troubleshooting guidelines.
  • Support diagnostics qualification and implementation for production staff.
  • Evaluate and disposition failed parts with proposed solutions.
  • Support development of manufacturing procedures and technical work instructions.
  • Support design and document reviews for diagnostics.
  • Support root cause analysis.
  • Support cycle time and labor hours roadmaps implementation.
  • Support PFMEA.
  • Able to read optical, mechanical, and electrical drawings.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience as Optical Engineers with Mechanics.
  • 1 to 2 years’ experience in an engineering environment.
  • Working knowledge with mechanical assembly and alignment.
  • Working knowledge with mechanical tooling and test equipment.
  • Working knowledge in detectors, electro-optical devices, and opto-mechanical constructions.
  • Experience in a production environment with high-tech products and complex production processes.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of MATLAB, LabVIEW, and Python.
Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a cleanroom and manufacturing setting with two open positions, one per shift. The shifts are CWW D1 from 6 am to 6 pm on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday, and CWW D2 from 6 am to 6 pm on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Wednesday. The work schedule alternates between 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next week, with daily overtime after 8 hours. The position offers an opportunity to work in the semiconductor industry, with benefits including vacation time and holidays, and the potential for conversion into a permanent engineering role after 18 months.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Wilton, Connecticut.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
