Facility Maintenance Technician

- Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting on building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and mechanical equipment.
- Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assist with coordination, installation, modification, and repair of facility infrastructure and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors as needed for specialized repairs or services.
- Support emergency maintenance and facility shutdowns as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Assist in training junior maintenance staff or new hires when applicable.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance facility operations and maintenance processes.
- Basic Carpentry and Painting Skills.
- Knowledge of safety standards such as OSHA regulations.
- Furniture and Equipment Assembly as needed.
- Supporting the Garden of Eatin by assisting with pruning and tree trimming and general gardening support including irrigation.
- Cleaning and repairing & maintaining outside pay equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in facility maintenance, electrical, HVAC, or related fields preferred.
- Proven experience (typically 2+ years) in facility maintenance or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills to interact with staff, vendors, and management.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, if required.
- Someone with a solutions-first approach and a capacity to come to the table with a diverse set of ideas for how to accomplish the goal.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents and agreements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills that are effective at all levels of the organization. Bi-lingual is a plus.
- Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload.
- Must possess a valid California Driver's License, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Must have a criminal background check clearance with Guardian.
- Physical Requirements constantly perform desk and computer-based tasks. As well as Maintenance related task.
- Frequent sitting.
- Frequent occasional stand/walk, reach/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, use a telephone, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 100 pounds.
- Occasionally to rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat/knee and never crawl.
- Proactively identify and communicate issues at the Brayton Campus.
- Attend regular team meetings and meet with others in the NBCC organization as needed.
- Maintains strict confidentiality with all NBCC information.
- Performs other assignments as requested.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Consistently bend, lift up to 100 pounds.
- Use of equipment such as wheel barrels and landscaping tools
