- Serve as reliable, strategic communications partner to corporate functions throughout the business in service of all stores
- Draft, edit, proofread and revise store communications
- Navigate high-volume inbox by making prompt decisions to prioritize requests based on the needs of the business
- Assess all inbox requests through a strategic lens to present questions to requestors to filter and enhance messaging as an advocate for store teams
- Play key role in task management process for all stores by editing submitted requests and partnering with workforce capacity team on approval
- Manage email communications to store operations leadership team, district managers and general managers
- Create graphic and written content for company intranet and digital workplace.
- Implement and maintain intranet design, content and operation
- Support collaboration by connecting key partners before communication is published to ensure messaging supports an enterprise lens and approach
- Provide feedback and coaching to internal business partners representing all corporate functions as part of the communications process
- Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with corporate functions (with specific focus on store & services operations, merchandising, marketing, LP and supply chain) to ensure timely delivery of balanced, clear store communications
- Serve as a point of contact for field leadership questions
- Lead communication efforts for special projects as requested by leaders
- Contribute to output of editorial calendar, which includes proactive, evergreen store, distribution center, corporate and executive communication strategy
- Provide after-hours coverage of the communications inbox in service of the business on an as-needed basis on a team rotation
- Provide guidance on cross-functional teams, including creation of communication plans and execution of enterprise project communication efforts
- Develop leadership messages on various store and services operations topics as well as organization announcements
- Prepare briefing materials for executives
- Additional duties as assigned
- Undergraduate degree in communications, journalism, public relations or human resources or related field of study.
- 5 years of communications experience, preferably in a retail environment
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, sense of urgency and follow-through
- Ability to multi-task, make quick in-the-moment decisions and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent collaboration skills
- Project management, time management, and strong planning and prioritization skills are essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Graphic design experience or capability a plus
- Flexible, able to deal with ambiguity and change direction quickly
- Professional maturity to handle confidential information
