Pursuing Excellence, Inspiring Innovation, Promoting Teamwork, Embracing Service, and Advancing EquityThe South Carolina Department of Public Health (SC DPH) is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join its Support Services Section as an Assistant Print Manager. This position reports directly to the Print Manager and plays a key role in managing complex printing operations to support the agency's internal and external communication needs.
Job duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Print Operations & Fulfillment
- Operate and manage complex print jobs, including high-volume and high-sensitivity projects.
- Ensure accurate and timely fulfillment of customer orders through effective communication and coordination.
- Leadership & Supervision
- Act as lead worker or supervisor in the absence of the Print Manager.
- Direct daily print shop operations and staff to ensure continuity of services and consistent output quality.
- Production & Resource Management
- Monitor production schedules and prioritize workloads to meet critical deadlines.
- Coordinate equipment usage and maintain inventory of supplies to support uninterrupted operations.
- Process Improvement & Workplace Standards
- Identify workflow bottlenecks and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce staff workload.
- Support efforts to maintain a safe, clean, and organized print production environment.
- Additional Duties
- Perform other duties as required, including participation in emergency response or activation efforts.
- Provide support in other functional areas of the Support Services Section to meet operational needs.
Experience in print production management within a government or high-volume print environment and familiarity with offset and digital printing technologies, bindery operations, and workflow software.
