All while understanding that together we are even better.Schedule:PRN as needed, DaysLocation: 701 WINTHROP AVE, Glendale Heights, 60139The role youll contribute:Responsible for planning, coordinating, and documenting admissions for the Behavioral Health Department inpatient units. This position ensures compliance of each potential admission with Joint Commission, federal, and state regulations related to admission criteria for inpatient psychiatric treatment, in collaboration with the admitting physician. Additionally, this role performs Utilization Review for each admission as needed. Additionally, this role provides support and guidance to patients and their families during the admission process.The value youll bring to the team:Responds to telephone inquiries from individuals seeking mental health care or information about mental health-related services.Admits patients to the hospital and registers outpatients with appropriate physician orders or transfers to another facility.Reviews all paperwork accompanying patients to ensure adherence to hospital and regulatory policies.Staffs a crisis hotline as needed.Assesses, plans, evaluates, and implements admissions for all Behavioral Health units according to department-specific criteria.Reports findings to the provider for final disposition of each call.Facilitates both voluntary and involuntary admissions independently, acquiring all necessary consents and legal documents.Is knowledgeable of criteria for Medicare, Medicaid, Joint Commission, HMOs, and private insurance coverage for acute care services.Cooperates with and provides concurrent review information to insurance companies as requested or per contractual agreementsOther duties as assigned. QualificationsThe expertise and experiences youll need to succeed:
  • Bachelor's Degree Required.
  • Two or more years of Work Experience Required.
