- Meet with clients, family members, and professional advisors to work toward establishing an estate plan that is tailor-made to each client's individual circumstances.
- Communicate with clients about possible options for disbursing their assets at death.
- Educate clients about options for structuring their estates to ensure the maximum amount of assets and tax protection.
- Draft revocable and irrevocable trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and other documents as necessary and appropriate for clients.
- Work closely with paralegals and other team members to provide each client with the very best experience.
- Promptly respond to all client inquiries and ensure work is completed in a prompt and professional manner.
- Guide clients and family members through the process of administering an estate or trust through incapacity and after death.
- Virginia Law license is required.
- Experience working at a law firm on estate planning and probate matters for at least 2-3 years.
- Working knowledge of wills, trusts, and property law.
- Basic understanding of retirement asset planning and estate and gift tax laws.
