- Maintain sterile field integrity and ensure compliance with aseptic technique
- Perform precise surgical instrument handling and passing during procedures
- Execute accurate surgical counts for instruments, sponges, and needles
- Prepare and manage surgical instrumentation and equipment
- Anticipate surgeon needs during procedures
- Collaborate with the perioperative team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain current knowledge of surgical procedures and technologies
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- Current certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
- Current BLS certification through American Heart Association
- Registration with VA Department of Health Professions
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move equipment
