- If you live within 50 miles of the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be hybrid. This means you will be expected to work in the office for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Security
- Eight to ten years of experience in multiple IT areas and relevant security architecture experience
- Advanced or expert knowledge and understanding of cloud (either Amazon AWS or MS Azure) security architecture with experience using cloud capabilities to achieve digital business transformation
- Experience developing architecture in support of relevant regulatory and industry compliance frameworks (HIPAA, GLBA. PCI, etc.).
- Certificate in CISSP
- May be required for a final interview
- Works closely with corporate architecture teams to ensure that cloud security strategy and corporate information technology strategy are complementary
- Participates in technical and business discussions relative to future security strategy; aligns architectural strategy with business goals and emerging threat landscape; represents information security on all relevant technology governance committees
- Serves as cloud architecture subject matter expert for information security team; coaches peers and constituents on integrating security into strategic and tactical decisions
- Provides architectural oversight to security engineering projects and architectural support for other information technology projects
- Researches and evaluates software/hardware products and industry trends to assist in project development and operational support activities
- Analyzes the current architecture to identify weaknesses and to develop opportunities for improvements such as enhancing authentication and reducing attack surface
- Participates in development of security technology roadmap and technology strategy for the information security organization
- Ensures that new initiatives and solutions targeted for cloud support established security principles; integrates security requirements into architectural requirements and framework strategy
- Analyzes and evaluates current and proposed corporate application portfolio to validate enforcement of security principles, identify integration issues, and recommend adjustments to controls framework to maximize controls effectiveness
- Assesses the security of network and/or platform facilities; works with appropriate teams on cloud solution designs and architectures by reviewing and recommending end-user, topology, physical, security, performance, and interoperability requirements
- Works with security engineers to develop effective cloud security principles and technical standards
- Develops and presents “white papers” on current and future technology trends and their impact on the security of the enterprise
