, an award-winning full-service staffing firm, has been engaged to conduct a search for an Inpatient Social Worker on behalf of a healthcare nonprofit based in Los Angeles, CA! This is a permanent hire opportunity offering a full-time onsite work schedule.This role provides critical support to patients in acute inpatient psychiatric settings, with a particular emphasis on geriatric psychiatry. The position requires strong clinical knowledge, the ability to supervise therapeutic activities, and a commitment to patient-centered care in a hospital environment.RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide inpatient social work services to patients in acute psychiatric care, with a focus on geriatric populations.
  • Supervise Certified Nursing Assistants in the delivery of recreation therapy activities.
  • Support treatment planning, care coordination, and interdisciplinary communication.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and progress in medical records.
  • Provide counseling and emotional support to patients and families during hospitalization.
  • Develop discharge and aftercare plans to ensure continuity of care post-hospitalization.
  • Document patient interactions and maintain compliance with hospital and program standards.
  • Facilitate communication between patients, families, and the healthcare team.
  • Connect patients and families with community resources such as housing, financial assistance, rehabilitation, and support groups.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatric and medical staff to ensure high-quality, integrated care.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's degree in social work (MSW) required.
  • At least 1 year of hospital experience is highly preferred.
  • Prior inpatient psychiatric experience, especially with geriatric patients, is highly desirable.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training required within 90 days of hire.
Proficiency with MS Office and electronic medical record systems.COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
