Job Summary: Performs engineering work in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments | Responsibilities are within the Engineering Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines Impact of the Role:General Profile
  • Supervises the daily activities of support staff or production team members. Does not typically perform the work supervised
  • Must have any type of one direct report or more
  • Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with other supervisors
  • Problem solving is guided by policies and procedures; receives guidance and oversight from manager
  • Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment
Essential Functions:
  • Analyzes, develops, and evaluates systems as well as improving and maintaining current systems or creating brand new projects.
  • Applies engineering techniques and analyses within the scope of the assignment.
  • Recommends operational plans with direct impact on results.
  • Requires communication with senior leadership on matters of strategic importance, i.e., Constructing and presenting status briefings on technical challenges.
  • Works with third party resources, site leadership and other necessary departments to bring comprehensive solutions for operations, production, or maintenance issues related to local production or test failures.
  • Leads and manages the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination with concurrence from HR & General Managers
Required Qualifications:
  • Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
  • Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree
  • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Leadership skills. Ability to foster teamwork. Oral and written communication skills. Ability to identify and seek needed information/research skills. Technical expertise. Mathematic skills. Computer skills.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
  • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
  • May need to stand for long periods of time.
  • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
