The PCB Designer will support the engineering project activities with the design and development of electronic printed circuit boards (PCBs). As a member of the electrical design and development team, this person will lead the design and development of electronic PCB boards. They will develop component part libraries, design PCB board layouts and develop supporting documentation for new and sustaining products.Responsibilities:
  • Design and layout PCB boards for use in power supplies, communications boards and Controllers using various technologies
  • Using Pulsonix as a PCB layout tool, create 2-6 layer PCB designs with double sided SMT component layout
  • Develop board layout and routing for PCBs requiring controlled impedance disciplines
  • Develop component part libraries for PCB boards and maintain the library system
  • Generate electronic circuit schematics
  • Generate documentation including fabrication drawings, gerber files, and Bill of Materials for various PCB boards
  • Ownership of the review and archival process for components and PCB sub-assemblies
  • Support external vendors in the fabrication process of raw boards and prototype assemblies
  • Continued growth in the field through conference attendance and training
Qualifications:
  • 7 years or more in the design and development of PCB board layout
  • 7 years or more in the use of CAD tools, Pads, Altium or Pulsonix used for high volume PCB board assemblies
  • Excellence with layout for EMC / high frequency switching
  • Experienced in complete PC board documentation and design for manufacturing
  • Experienced in PC board BOM, proto processing
  • Experienced in Electro/mechanical component and drafting methods
  • Experienced in PCB fabrication with manufacturers used for high volume production
  • History of commitment
Education:2-year Associate Degree or equivalent
