A leader in production agribusiness seeks a strong financial and accounting expert to oversee the financial operations of multiple companies within the organization. This key role will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. It will be involved in managing accounting practices, budgeting, financial analysis, and compliance, aligning financial strategies with the overall goals of the organization.Experience with inventory accounting sought. Position is based in the Santa Maria valley area of the Central Coast. The company can potentially consider relocation for the optimal candidate. A hybrid in-office / home office situation is currently being considered by the company.Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the monthly close process and ensure the timely preparation of accurate periodic financial statements.
  • Support the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP.
  • Generate and distribute financial statements to management personnel.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets, budget variance reports, and forecasts.
  • Design and implement effective internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Facilitate timely reviews with external auditors and providing tax return prep support.
  • Supervise and direct the work of accounting staff.
  • Oversee accounting practices, budgeting, financial analysis, and compliance within the division.
  • Align financial strategies with the overall goals of the company.
  • Participate as a team member for an ERP upgrade project.
  • Assist in Treasury Functions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA designation or MBA preferred.
  • At least eight years of experience in accounting and finance.
  • Strong accounting and financial analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Supervisory experience is required.
Skills:
  • Proficiency in large scale ERP software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
The total compensation range the company may reasonably expect to pay for this role is $100,000 – $200,000. The actual compensation package for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s skills and experience.
