- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Tennessee or ability to obtain
- Strong leadership, organizational, and delegation skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Working knowledge of project management software Ajera is a plus
- Strong design, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Experience managing schedules, budgets, and project deliverables
- Ability to effectively lead and mentor a design team
- A self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
- Manage workload and schedules for the design team
- Effectively delegate project design responsibilities to team members
- Mentor, train, and encourage technical and design employees
- Ensure the team has the necessary resources and support to complete their work efficiently
- Develop a working knowledge of project management tools and resources in Ajera
- Review project budgets and provide input as needed
- Maintain regular communication with clients, keeping them informed of project progress, changes, and challenges
- Create project timelines and milestones, ensuring adherence by the design team
- Identify and mitigate potential risks impacting project timelines or quality
- Assist with preparing monthly invoices for the projects you manage
- Lead and coordinate project meetings with clients and regulatory agencies
- Serve as the primary point of contact between x, clients, and stakeholders
- Attend and actively participate in public meetings, representing x and clients
- Develop and enhance relationships with client staff and key decision-makers
- Seek out new projects and client opportunities
- Assist in firm-wide training and development initiatives
- Participate in networking events and professional organizations to promote x
- Participate in proposal development for new projects
- Act as an emissary between team members and firm leadership as needed
- 10 days of vacation per year, with the ability to carry over up to 40 hours and earn additional days after five years
