This position will focus on functional academics, adaptive behavior skill development, and work-based learning skills.Minimum Qualifications:1. NYS certification in Students with Disabilities 9-12 or Students with Disabilities All Grades2. Evidence of academic success at undergraduate and/or graduate levels3. Strong written and oral communication skills4. Demonstrated strong work ethic and dedication to student success5. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment6. Evidence of positive classroom management skills7. Evidence of ability to work productively and collaboratively with students and families8. Demonstrated initiative to form partnerships with outside agencies to support the transition of high school students to opportunities after high school9. Knowledge and understanding of the New York State Alternate Assessment10. Experience in developing IEPsQualifications Desired:1. Experience in teaching secondary level functional academic programming2. Knowledge of ACCES-VR, OPWDD, and other agencies that assist with the high school transition3. Experience in developing work-based learning programs for students with disabilities4. Understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis and ability to assist in developing Behavior Intervention Plans5.
