- Develop engineering calculations under the supervision of senior structural engineers.
- Assist Senior Engineers in the planning, design, and production of engineering drawings.
- Participate on projects involving construction activities by reviewing shop drawings for conformance with specifications; assist in recordkeeping and in generating progress reports; observe construction procedures and collect samples for quality control testing.
- Perform field observations of construction where appropriate.
- EXPERIENCE:
- 0-2 years of experience in structural design
- EDUCATION:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with an emphasis on structural engineering.
- M.S. or graduate level technical coursework is a plus.
- SPECIAL SKILLS:
- RISA or Tekla Tedds software experience is a plus.
- Revit experience is a plus.
- Candidate must have a valid US driver’s license
- Results-oriented, with good organizational skills, attention to detail, and the capability of efficiently working simultaneously on multiple projects.
- Positive perspective with the ability to engender a team attitude amongst colleagues and clients.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills allowing for effective communication in multidisciplinary project teams involving representatives from the client, various departments/offices within AtkinsRéalis, and other consultants and contractors.
- PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS:
- Successful completion of the Engineer-In-Training Exam by NCEES, or the ability to obtain it within six months.
