The Network Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, scalability, and security of network systems and associated platforms. The role focuses on implementing modern, robust networking solutions, automation initiatives, and collaborating across teams to maintain system performance and security.What You’ll Do
- Support and Maintenance: Manage and maintain networking and security infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and strong protection against cyber threats.
- Security Management: Configure, manage, and troubleshoot firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems and access control solutions. Enforce security best practices to safeguard data and infrastructure.
- Load Balancing and Traffic Management: Provide operational support for F5 BIG-IP platforms, including load balancing and application delivery controllers.
- Automation and Scalability: Leverage automation to scale and govern infrastructure efficiently, automating routine network and security tasks to improve system velocity and sustainability.
- Network Design and Deployment: Architect and deploy scalable networking solutions based on business requirements, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enable efficient outcomes.
- Monitoring and Optimization: Continuously monitor system performance, proactively identify and resolve issues, and perform tuning to maximize uptime, performance, and response times.
- Incident and Problem Resolution: Respond to incidents, participate in on-call rotation to ensure continuous support, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and troubleshoot complex issues such as failures, connectivity issues, and performance bottlenecks.
- Documentation: Develop and maintain system documentation, including standard operating procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting guides, to support efficient maintenance and knowledge sharing.
- Expertise in network infrastructure design, implementation, and maintenance, with a strong understanding of modern networking principles.
- Hands-on experience with network security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPN services, and access control systems (HashiCorp Boundary).
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, regulatory compliance, and best practices.
- Proficiency in managing and supporting F5 BIG-IP platforms, including load balancing, application security, and traffic management.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, STP, TCP, UDP, IPv6).
- Proven experience in network performance monitoring, and optimization.
- Familiarity with observability tools, logging systems, and tracing technologies.
- Skilled in implementing automation solutions for network and security tasks using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Python scripting.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in agile environments.
- Excellent communication, troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to evolving project requirements and technologies.
- BS/BA degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 6+ years of experience in network operations, engineering, or security roles in a technology-driven organization.
- Strong experience with network and security infrastructure, including tools and protocols relevant to the role.
- Certifications in networking or security (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, or similar) as a plus
- Proficiency in scripting languages and familiarity with automation frameworks
