- Support processing, utilities, and/or wastewater systems with technical knowledge and expertise.
- Design methods for maintaining or increasing process efficiencies while improving costs, yields, quality, and safety.
- Troubleshoot process problems and identify the true root cause to correct processing issues.
- Initiate and review all proposed process changes within the plant through a Management of Change process
- Lead efforts for proactive monitoring and anomaly detection in specific process areas to identify issues in processes and products
- Support the quality team in Root Cause Analysis investigations.
- Support R&D with trials for new products or changes in formulation / process.
- Maintain documentation library in coordination with the drafting team (Equipment Layouts, Process Flow Diagrams, P&IDs, Equipment Manuals, etc.)
- Develop process scopes of work to define new project ideas and support other manufacturing site leaders with project funding requests.
- Support conceptual engineering design efforts and specify necessary process equipment with guidance from senior process engineers.
- Work with vendors and contractors to achieve desired project outcomes, ensuring that work is completed safely and in accordance with all regulatory guidelines and internal standards.
- Work closely with the Project Management team to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Assist with transitioning capital projects to the production plant team.
- Lead and participate in process risk assessments, automation simulations, and FMEA's.
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering preferred, other engineering degrees considered.
- 1-7 years of experience in plant manufacturing or capital projects.
- Experience in hygienic process design. Dairy manufacturing preferred, or food & beverage, pharmaceutical, or chemical industry manufacturing considered.
- Experience with cultured dairy products and aseptic processing is a plus.
- Skilled at creating technical documents and reports.
- Experience sizing processing equipment, including pumps, piping, and other general dairy processing equipment.
- Understanding of PLC and logic controls for manufacturing equipment.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software and AutoCAD.
- Experience in process data trending and analysis. SEEQ knowledge preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively across various levels, prioritize tasks, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Curiosity and a passion to learn new things and solve problems.
