ResponsibilitiesThe Medical Assistant II demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the ages of patients served by their department. This position assists the MD/NP/PA in perfoming procedures. Operates, maintains and calibrates all equipment. Ability to supervise Medical Assistant I.Back Office Duties:
- Take patient vital signs, record medical histories, and update electronic health records (EHR).
- Administer injections and immunizations as directed by healthcare providers. (on-site training provided)
- Perform basic laboratory tests, including specimen collection and processing.
- Provide patient education and instructions as directed by healthcare providers.
RequirementsEDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Education and Work Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- A minimum of three years experience as a Medical Assistant or EMT-Paramedic or Military Medic experience.
- License Requirements:
- N/A
- Certification Requirements:
- Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
- CPR certification preferred

- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following:
- Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel
- Microsoft Outlook

- Performance Manager/NetLearning
- Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
- Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
- Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
