- Stay current with trends on the supply market, product innovations and competitors.
- Regularly engage with business stakeholders to identify category procurement needs and present on current vendor performance.
- Foster meaningful relationships with current and prospective vendors’ account management and leadership teams.
- Lead the department’s RFI and RFP initiatives for assigned business categories.
- Serve as business subject matter expert to identify strategic opportunities and potential risks within assigned categories.
- Negotiate national and international contracts that leverage Planet Fitness’ size, scale, and franchise network.
- Facilitate cross-functional teams deploying in-club product Test & Learn processes.
- Analyze usage data, member feedback and other key indicators and make suggestions on in-club product mix.
- Communicate operational best practices, usage trends, and areas for optimization to franchise operators and their teams.
- Work with category business stakeholders to manage ad-hoc issues and service requests.
- Bachelor’s degree in vendor management, massage and wellness equipment, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in category management or industry research/ fitness industry
- Franchise business experience preferred
- Experience developing subject matter expertise in diverse business categories
- Experience managing RFP’s, RFI’s and RFQ’s
- Strong working knowledge of demand planning and forecasting with external partners
- Superior contract review and negotiation skills
- Experience managing and directing external partners with day-to-day priorities and assisting in resolving problems
- Strong business acumen
- Comfortable initiating relationships with new vendors and working cross-departmentally
- Proactive problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Inquisitive with strong quantitative analytical skills and an innovative approach to problem solving
- Extremely detail-oriented, efficient, and organized with an exceptional ability to establish priorities and objectives
- Excellent presentation and communication skills along with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and must be comfortable communicating complex concepts to diverse levels of seniority and technical teams
- Able to establish and maintain effective, collaborative work relationships with diverse individuals, internally and externally
- Creative, progressive, thought leadership with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
