Job Summary:We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Restaurant General Manager to lead the daily operations of our restaurant in the Old Town San Diego area. This is an exciting opportunity to take the helm during a period of renovation and transformation, playing a key role in shaping the restaurant's future. The ideal candidate is a positive-minded, hands-on leader with an "owner's mentality," strong financial acumen, and the ability to mentor and inspire a team. We are looking for someone who sets the tone for excellence in hospitality, operations, and culture.ResponsibilitiesOversee daily restaurant operations to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.Maintain excellence in food quality, sanitation, service timing, cleanliness, and staff morale.Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing, motivated team.Ensure compliance with health, safety, food safety, and alcohol service regulations.Manage purchasing, vendor relationships, and inventory control to deliver quality while minimizing waste and costs.Utilize POS system (Micros) for sales tracking, cash handling, and operational reporting.Monitor and analyze the P&L, sales trends, labor costs, and key financial metrics to drive profitability.Provide exceptional customer service by addressing guest concerns and creating memorable dining experiences.Implement training programs for staff on food preparation, service standards, and guest engagement.Supervise shifts to ensure optimal staffing and operational flow.Partner with the kitchen leadership team to uphold food quality, presentation, and consistency.Qualifications & SkillsMinimum 3 years of experience in restaurant management or similar leadership roles.Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a focus on driving business results.Proven financial management skills, including budgeting, inventory control, and P&L analysis.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with staff, vendors, and guests.Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team, with a focus on creating a positive and productive work environmentSkilled in staff development, training, and performance management.Proficient with POS systems (Micros preferred) and cash handling procedures.Exceptional customer service skills with a genuine passion for hospitality.Knowledge of health, safety, and food handling regulations.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.Flexible schedule with availability on evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended workdays as business requires.The statements listed are intended to represent the key duties and level of work being performed.
