OverviewReceives, issues, returns, and maintains materials and material inventory in Regional Service Center storerooms and warehouses. Performs material related activities to fill requisitions for materials and coordinates tools and equipment to support work. This vacancy is based out of PPL's Newport Service Center.THIS IS A UNION POSITION and successful candidates will be members of IBEW Local 1600.
Responsibilities
- Uses software and associated hardware devices provided to effectively perform the Material Worker duties.
- Receives and stores/stocks, inventories materials, tools and equipment.
- Issues, picks, packs, and ships materials and stages materials for pick-up.
- Delivers materials, tools and equipment when requested.
- Manages M&E (free bin) materials.
- Returns materials.
- Perform cycle count and inventory reconciliation activities.
- Purchase materials and services using Corporate Card as directed.
- Coordinates and reconciles equipment rental and tools to support field work.
- Coordinates with appropriate company representatives for the disposition of obsolete material and equipment.
- Operates motor vehicles, including those requiring a CDL license, forklifts, common power and hand tools, banding equipment and material handling equipment to transport tools, material and equipment safely and in accordance with applicable laws.
- As directed, performs research and prepare requisitions for material requests, contracts and agreements, work orders, releases, transfers, purchase orders, to meet normal and emergency requirements.
- Performs and organizes miscellaneous yard and warehouse clean-up activities in Material & logistics areas.
- Performs such other related duties as assigned or as necessary.
- High school education or equivalent.
- Successful completion of the PPL Logistics Aptitude Test or its replacement (excluding Material Worker Trainee – Incumbent).
- Possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license and have the ability to obtain a CDL Class A license within (6) months.
- Ability to obtain valid and appropriate operator’s license or certificate and ability to operate material handling equipment and vehicles e.g. forklift, material cart, van and pick-up truck.
- Adequate physical ability to perform manual work associated with job duties.
