- Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
- Assist with managing the company environmental health and safety programs at the project level, driving a safety-oriented approach to work.
- Assist with compiling, analyzing, and interpreting occupational illness and accident statistical data at the project level; recommend process and product safety features that will reduce employee exposure to chemical, physical, and biological work hazards
- Routinely inspect the facilities, machinery, and safety equipment in order to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance
- Routinely monitor the workforce for unsafe behaviors and coach employees on the correct behaviors when observed
- Interpret safety regulations related to projects
- Assist with coordination and presentation of safety training to support company programs including new hire orientation, fall protection, confined space, lockout/tagout, etc.
- Collaborate with OSHA/MSHA (state or federal) officials/inspectors in the event or a site visit
- Actively pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field of study
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable MVR required
- Knowledge of construction safety, current Federal and of MSHA/OSHA regulations and hazard recognition, record keeping and injury management skills
- Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong organizational, time management, and written/verbal communication skills
- Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment
- Familiar with air monitor calibrations, fit testing, etc.
- OSHA 30Hr/10Hr certification is preferred
- Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by company safety guidelines
- Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
- Regularly required to use hands to feel, handle and manipulate objects
- Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear)
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Frequently required to stand/work on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain
- Frequently work in close proximity to heavy equipment and machinery, exposure to loud noise
- Frequent exposure to typical construction site conditions, including dust and loud noise, and all weather conditions
