Works closely with senior management to evaluate legal impact of major decisions. Aligns team strategy within company and North America and leads team accordingly.Responsibilities:
  • Leads employees in line with organizational culture, values and guidelines.
  • Manages team, assigned tasks and balance workload.
  • Act as legal advisor to all MBV departments regarding the broad range of issues affecting a vehicle production facility.
  • Advises the Company's management and develops solutions and strategies for complex legal matters relating to international supply chain issues, supplier disputes, procurement, antitrust, labor, employment, HR topics, immigration, litigation, supplier insolvencies, complex transactions, economic incentives, and corporate governance.
  • Works closely with senior management to evaluate legal impact of major decisions where applicable law, regulations, or facts of the case are unclear, controversial, or conflicting.
  • Evaluate legal and operational risks and implement appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
  • Liaising with external legal counsel on legal issues, including management of external counsel budget and administration of POs.
  • Use strong leadership and communication skills to articulate positions to non-lawyers.
  • Identifying, evaluating, and addressing complex issues of legal risk. Provide and drive solutions for risk mitigation.
  • Structuring, drafting, reviewing legal contracts, letters of agreement, policies and other documents related to a variety of trade, commercial, financial, and operational matters
  • Represent/advocate for an organization in litigation, arbitration, mediation or other disputes with courts, government agencies, or other legal authorities, including management of litigation responses, issuance of records retention notices, witness identification and preparation, and development and execution of case strategy.
  • Oversees the function of the local compliance officer to ensure they are aligned with the North American Chief Compliance Officer's direction and the objectives of the business and legal department which includes compliance risk assessments, performance monitoring and reporting.
  • Work closely with General Counsel of MBUSI to establish strong reporting relationship and ensure uniform legal strategy across US passenger vehicle manufacturing facilities.
  • Serves as MBV's Corporate Secretary responsible for corporate governance, including all activities of the Board of Directors.
  • Provides research, factual information, counsel, and guidance on non-routine legal questions or issues
  • Leads junior attorneys and staff, including explaining problems, ideas, and concepts to team that are to be incorporated into work assignments; leading team meetings and responsible for training and development of team.
  • Writes legal opinions that sometimes require extensive research of statutes, regulations, or court decisions in complex areas of the law
  • Plans and manages MBV Legal's budget and manpower in accordance with key performance indicators. Monitors compliance with budget targets, introduces and supervises cost-cutting measures where necessary, and develops an awareness of costs among staff.
  • Will perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsQualifications:Internal candidate must have completed PV44. * Excellent leadership skills.
  • Must possess the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality, dependability, and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work against deadlines and manage multiple tasks within a fast paced, team oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of fundamentals of law. Must have excellent legal administration skills and strong organization skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, document management software, and e-discovery.
