- The Clinical Supervisor directs and oversees all clinical program activities, emphasizing the need for overall consistency, thoroughness, and accuracy. The primary purpose is to guide the program towards enhanced clinical efficiencies, ensuring that deliverables and assigned contract functions consistently meet the highest standards.
- Assures accuracy and timeliness of all applicable review type cases within contract requirements.
- Assesses, evaluates and addresses daily workload and queues.
- Responsible for the quality monitoring activities including identifying areas of improvement and plan implementation of improvement areas including quarterly audits, QIP, database management.
- Maintains current knowledge base related to review processes and clinical practices related to the review processes.
- Functions as providers' liaison and contact/resource person for provider customer service issues and problem resolution.
- Performs all applicable review types as workload indicates.
- Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules.
- Active, unrestricted Licensed RN in the state of Kansas.
- Extensive experience managing clinical care management, Utilization Management (UM) operations.
- 1+ years of InterQual and/or Milliman (MCG) criteria experience.
- 1+ years of Utilization Review (UR) OR Utilization Management (UM) OR Prior Authorization (PA) experience.
- Experience using systems that support Utilization and Case Management processing.
- 2+ years of clinical management experience.
- Must reside in the State of Kansas, within 5 miles of Topeka, Kansas.
- Must work on-site in Topeka, Kansas Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent directly applicable experience in nursing, healthcare administration, or related area.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Current working knowledge of utilization management, and managed care.
- Customer-focused, results-oriented, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external customers.
- Organizational skills and the ability to plan and prioritize multiple assignments are essential.
- Proficient in examining and re-examining operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
- Familiarity with the U.S. healthcare industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing diverse customer needs.
- Ability to participate as a team member, fostering collaborative decision-making among leadership, committees, teams, or workgroups of diverse composition.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other essential software programs for job functions.
- Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals.
- Capability to provide technical guidance and leadership to the management team.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
