  • Work collaboratively with the Grants and RFP Teams to develop proposals and reports in alignment with funder requirements and organization standards while ensuring completeness, accuracy, readability and consistency.
  • Writes, reviews and edits/rewrites proposals, reports, supporting documents.
  • Responsible for processing, organizing, and tracking final proposals, grants, and reports, including any MOAs/MOUs (electronic and hard copy files).
  • Conducts research for data (including statistical data) relating to programs and funding opportunities and maintaining a database/library information.
  • Building relationships with stakeholders (including donors/foundations/partners)
  • Advocating for programs and services through lobbying activities as needed
The Grants Specialist supports the proposal team in all aspects of the grant writing process working with grant contributors and reviewers, to ensure the highest quality proposal/report is produced to supports organization's mission. This requires a high level of communication and coordination skills to manage multiple grants simultaneously. Requires a high level of accuracy and time management. The Grants Specialist must be able to offer a flexible work schedule that may include some evenings and weekends to ensure deadlines are met.EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTSFour-Year College Degree from a school accredited by a recognized accrediting agency - general major. Requires basic knowledge or training in a specialized or technical field or trade, such as social work, professional accounting, finance, business administration, and marketing.Other (Specify):
  • Four-Year College Degree preferred. Can be waived if candidate has over 2 years of RFP/Grant experience.
EXPERIENCE
  • Over two years, up to and including four years
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
  • Excellent communication (written/oral), highly organized, etc.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, be able to multi-task
OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • This job requires a valid Hawaii driver's license, a clear driver's abstract, and willingness to travel in personal vehicle on an as-needed basis throughout the island.
  • This position is subject to a criminal background investigation and continued employment is contingent on a record clear of convictions
