The manager of the PES is primarily responsible for supervising and coordinating the implementation of daily administrative activities of the Patient Engagement Studio. The manager will interpret current policies and procedures as well as create new policies as needed. Align strategic goals with operations by developing work plans, assigning, and delegating tasks and human and other resources and following up. Track staff and program resources including time and effort, community demographics and metrics, outputs and outcomes.
The PES manager supervises the PES portion of multiple projects with research teams across the University and nationally. This includes financial management, coordinating and facilitating meetings, recruiting researchers and patient experts to participate in studies, and managing PES staff and students.
Manage students (undergraduate, graduate, and medical students) who are working with the patient engagement studio. Ensure appropriate meetings occur to ensure completion of student responsibilities.
Manage PES Staff including RGP Coordinators hired to manage PES Grant progress by providing guidance and supervision on appropriate milestones and deliverables.
Use reporting and other approaches to determine whether a project or set of activities related to the community is achieving objectives and target metrics; solicit feedback on community feature via user surveys, focus groups, and informal mechanisms; make recommendations based on findings
Develop timelines, themes and agendas; coordinate speakers, venues, travel, and materials; manage consultants, contractors and vendors, develop and coordinate press and marketing; oversee day-of event implementation; and follow up including report generation.
Manage patient engagement studio expenses and related activities including paying patient experts and their related expenses and solving challenges related to PES budget expenditures.Essential Function Yes

Job DutyResearch and Evaluation Coordination
· Design surveys and other primary data collection materials in support of studies.· Draft study protocols, consent forms, and other items needed for new research study submissions being conducted by the studio.· Use eIRB software system to electronically manage all new study submissions, as well as process any amendments, or renewals for ongoing studies.
Manage personnel supporting data collection
· Identify and resolve any conflicts between support personnel schedules, as well as any cross-study scheduling conflicts for personnel assigned to more than one project.· Manage primary data in support of principle investigator needs.Essential Function Yes
