Those stories are part of what makes this such a special place to work.Job OverviewThe Senior, Developer delivers value to business partners by providing tools and capabilities to analyze large data sets for research, analytics, campaign management, reporting, and tactical and strategic decision-making. The Senior, Developer builds solutions that support the Analytic Systems Solution stack, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), SAS in a Linux environment, and Tableau Server/Desktop.The Senior, Developer has extensive experience as a data engineer or ETL developer, building and automating data transformation and loading procedures. The role requires strong knowledge and experience with BigQuery, SQL, Cloud Composer, Apache Airflow, and SAS to perform data profiling, discovery, modeling, and process automation. The Senior, Developer works comfortably with data from multiple sources, including Hadoop, DB2, Oracle, and flat files.This role manages detail-intensive projects that require accurate capture and translation of data requirements-both tactical and analytical-and validation of the working solution. The Senior, Developer collaborates closely with cross-functional partners, including Business Analysts, Product Managers, Data Analysts, and Report Developers.What You Will Do
  • Design, develop, and implement end-to-end solutions on Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Cloud Composer, Apache Airflow), with strong ability to translate business requirements into technical design plans.
  • Automate, deploy, and support solutions scheduled on Crontab or Control-M, ensuring proper error handling, dependency controls, and necessary alerts; triage and resolve production issues while implementing preventive measures.
  • Build rapid prototypes and proofs of concept to assess project feasibility.
  • Document technical design specifications detailing how business and functional requirements are met; create operations run book procedures for each solution deployment.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to analytics ecosystem solution design and architecture.
  • Participate in product support activities such as patches and release upgrades; provide validation support for Google Cloud and SAS products, as well as related infrastructure, systems, or process changes impacting Analytics infrastructure.
  • Contribute to the full SDLC framework using Agile/Lean methodology.
  • Support non-production environments in collaboration with Operations and IT teams.
  • Demonstrate consistent, dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Manage assignments and tasks for offshore resources.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.

Skills You Will NeedData Engineering and ETL Development - Expertise in designing, building, and automating ETL processes to manage large and complex data sets efficiently.Cloud Platforms - Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, including BigQuery, Cloud Composer, and Apache Airflow, to deliver scalable data solutions.Programming and Scripting - Strong proficiency in SQL, Unix Shell scripting, and Python; experience with SAS (BASE, MACRO, STAT) to support data analysis and automation.Database and Big Data Technologies - Skilled in RDBMS (Oracle, DB2), Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, TEZ, MapReduce, Sqoop), and Spark/PySpark, with working knowledge of Zeppelin and Jupyter Notebook.Data Management and Analytics - Ability to perform data profiling, discovery, modeling, transformation, and process automation to support reporting and analysis.Visualization and Reporting - Experience using Tableau to develop reporting solutions and support business data requirements.Analytical Problem-Solving - Strong ability to translate complex business requirements into technical designs, identify trends and issues, and develop data-driven solutions.Collaboration and Communication - Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with proven ability to partner with Business Analysts, Product Managers, and cross-functional teams.Leadership and Independence - Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and guide offshore resources when needed.Strategic Thinking and Continuous Improvement - Strong organizational planning skills with a focus on adaptability, innovation, and process improvement.Who You Are
  • Candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply. 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering, ETL Development, and Data Analytics.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
