Position Summary:The Production Control Specialist coordinates workflow across departments to ensure timely and efficient production.This role involves processing new orders, managing work orders, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting production planning and control activities.Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and release work orders for manufactured assemblies and subparts.
  • Maintain accurate due dates across customer orders, master schedules, and shop floor systems.
  • Collaborate with departments to correct BOMs (Bill of Materials) and labor estimates.
  • Distribute work orders and pick lists to appropriate departments.
  • Post material usage and receive parts inventory after job completion.
  • Conduct cycle counts, regular inventory audits, and reconcile discrepancies to maintain Kanban and overall inventory accuracy.
  • Create and update inventory records in ERP systems and manual logs, tracking stock levels, movements, and transactions across departments.
  • Identify and report unusual stock activity, transaction errors, or critical supply needs, liaising with user departments to expedite solutions (e.g., rush orders for production shortages).
  • Attend production meetings and prepare/distribute reporting documentation, such as inventory status reports and catalogues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Kaizen events or performance metrics tracking) and performance management teams.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required; associate degree in logistics, supply chain, or a related field preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • 2+ years in production control or manufacturing support.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and inventory control software.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
Work Environment:
  • This role is performed primarily in a manufacturing facility.
  • Regular interaction with production floor and warehouse personnel on a daily basis.
