Job Category: Doctors & PhysiciansResponsibilities: * Provide psychiatric evaluations and consultations in the Emergency Department as part of the Psychiatric Emergency Service/Designated Screening Center.
  • Maintain necessary and appropriate documentation for all services provided in compliance with regulatory and hospital policies.
  • Provide on-call and/or clinic coverage as requested by the Department Chairperson.
  • Provide education to patients and their families related to medication and treatment options prescribed.
  • Provide consultative and advisory services to clinicians as requested.
  • Provide coverage for the in-patient psychiatrist as needed.
  • Participating in assigned committees' activities such as Performance Improvement and peer review as requested.
  • Participate actively in education of students and residents.
  • Participate in scholarly activity and research as needed or assigned.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
