Salary: $80,000 - 90,000/yearThis position allows for 2 days/week remote after training.The Senior Accountant will be the primary assistant to the Accounting Department, reporting directly to the Controller. This is an incredible opportunity for a Senior Accountant professional to be immersed within month-end close activities. The ideal Senior Accountant candidate will have working month-end close experience, opportunity to mentor and serve as lead to the other Accountants in the department.Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:Recommend and participate in process improvementsMaintain and keep current training documents, supporting schedule templates, and SOPsPrepare cash flow and forecast functions and assist other entities in monitoring cash and overall financial performanceOversee and monitor entity’s spending and ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies and communicate any violation to management and supervisory personnelAssist in the ongoing training & development of existingStaff Accountants as well as affiliate administrative staffCommunicate and assist affiliate Board members with financial matters including inquiries, explanations all while maintaining excellent customer serviceMaintain and update supporting schedules to the financial statements, including supporting schedules for reconciliation of general ledger accountsReview bank deposits and keep accurate daily cash ledgers and reconcile bank accounts on a monthly or more frequent basisMaintain and properly record and recognize all monthly revenue funding sources, including state contracts and other entity’s grantsReview accounts payable transactions to ensure compliance with accounting and contract and grant requirementsPrepare and process journal entries in addition to ad-hoc reports such as Form 990 proformaQualifications for the Senior Accountant:3 to 5+ years of progressive accounting experienceProficient in Microsoft Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, and formulas)Experience with SAGE Intacct is a plusEager to learn and possesses strong communication skillsOrganized and efficient – is deadline drivenUpbeat attitude and willing to assist othersPowered by JazzHR
