- Complete background checks and new hire paperwork for new hires
- Create/update paper files for any new hires, status changes, and terminations
- Administer company leave policy by running and reviewing reports of leave usage, leave status updates, and denied leaves
- Communicate relevant changes in leave status to HR manager and supervisor
- Collaborate with plant HR manager on escalated leaves
- Run monthly reports for business units who request them
- Organize monthly business updates, “lunch and learns,” and other trainings in corporate office
- Train supervisors / managers on new hire document completion
- Assist in policy reviews as needed
- 1 year of human resources experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Experience with data entry and filing.
- Ability to integrate external research, HR practices, and federal/state legislation to create new or update existing policies.
- Experience editing policy documents.
- Knowledge of FMLA and leave administration.
- 1 year of experience in a leave administration role.
- Experience using ADP Enterprise, ADP Total Absence Management, and ApplicantStack.
- Basic understanding of HR legislation and project planning.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently with accuracy.

- Surroundings. You’ll be working around different machines – Schubert’s, forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and chocolate candy banks/steels.
- Activity. Some activities may require standing in one place for long periods, walking around, or climbing stairs/ladders, and routinely lift 50 lbs.
- Temperature. You will be comfortable year-round with our climate-controlled environment. Our temperatures are consistently around 63°F but could fluctuate depending on your specific role.
- Smell. You will enjoy a variety of deliciously sweet aromas and you may end your day smelling like chocolate!
- Dress code. Relaxed, with a few rules to follow for food safety, personal safety and in guidance with our good manufacturing practices (GMP). Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are required. Leather, imitation leather, or rubber boots or shoes must be worn in the kitchen and other areas when working around hot liquid/product or hot water.
