The individual assists patients and families by being sensitive to the need for emotional support, as well as therapeutic treatment. The Radiation Therapist collaborates with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure quality care for Radiation Oncology patients.JOB QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATIONFor positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.Minimum Required: A graduate of an approved twenty-four month curriculum based program in radiation therapy or an accredited bachelor level program in radiation therapy.Preferred/Optional: NoneEXPERIENCEMinimum Required: NonePreferred/Optional: Two years previous work experience as a radiation therapist.CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSESThe following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) as a radiation therapist or certification obtained within six months of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA).
