Senior Electrical Engineer – Power & Low Voltage Systems📍 Location: Long Beach, CAAre you a seasoned Electrical Engineer with over 5 years of experience seeking the next step in your career? Our client—an award-winning, industry-leading engineering firm consistently recognized as a "Best Place to Work" for over 15 years—is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their dynamic team in Long Beach.Key ResponsibilitiesPre-Design & Site AnalysisConduct field surveys and assessments for electrical system designCompile detailed site assessment reports and gather technical dataDevelop electrical schematic designs during early project phasesDesign & Technical ExecutionCreate single-line diagrams, riser diagrams, and circuit layoutsPerform electrical calculations including arc flash , coordination , short circuit , voltage drop , and load flow using ETAP or SKMSelect lighting fixtures and power equipmentDesign lighting and power circuiting and coordinate lighting control systemsDevelop fire alarm layouts in accordance with NFPA 72 and International Fire CodeDesign fire alarm risers, sequence of operations, and system calculationsProduce detailed construction documents including enlarged plans, elevations, schedules, and diagramsApply CAD/BIM standards and ensure compliance with California Electrical Code and Title 24 Energy StandardsCoordinate effectively with mechanical, plumbing, telecom, civil, structural, and architectural teamsProject Management & LeadershipManage multiple large-scale projects, coordinating with internal teams and external consultantsProvide technical mentorship to junior and mid-level design engineersLead project proposals and contribute to client developmentMaintain strong client relationships and actively pursue new business opportunitiesConstruction AdministrationReview and respond to RFIs and submittals during construction phaseConduct field inspections, punch walks , and prepare final punch list documentationEnsure project execution aligns with design intent and code requirementsQualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical EngineeringRegistered Professional Engineer (PE) – Required10+ years of professional electrical engineering experience (commercial, healthcare, institutional projects preferred)Proven experience leading design and managing engineering teamsProficient in AutoCAD , ETAP or SKM , and RevitFamiliarity with HCAI standards (Healthcare Access and Information) is a plusStrong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlinesSelf-driven and collaborative mindset with strong technical communication skillsBenefitsUpon eligibility, you'll receive a competitive compensation and benefits package, including:13 Paid Company Holidays per yearComprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceEmployer-paid Group Life InsuranceSupplemental insurance (Accident, Critical Illness, Pet Insurance)Tuition and Professional Training Assistance401(k) plan with 100% employer match up to 4% of your compensation (immediate vesting)
