MANTECH seeks a highly motivated and career-oriented MS SQL Server developer to join our team on-site in Norfolk, VA. This is an onsite position.Join the Navy's Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) program and contribute to the evolution of warfighter readiness. We provide critical engineering and technical expertise for the U.S. Navy's premier Live, Virtual, Constructive (LVC) training capability. Our work involves seamlessly integrating live training with synthetic systems to create highly realistic and complex global training environments. We also drive the development of advanced representations for joint, theater, and national systems, and model new weapons technologies and emerging threats, ensuring our forces are prepared for any challenge.Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Design, develop and optimize DB schemas, SQL scripts and objects to meet application functionality and performance requirementsWork with stakeholders on data-related technical issuesPerform database development including schema, stored procedures and viewsWork with users to gather requirement specificationsImplement and maintain formal SQL coding processes, documentation, and standardsCreate data architecture that allows for efficient data storage, retrieval, and manipulationUpdate databases based on requests, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing legacy systemsWork with developers to improve applications and establish best practicesCreate and maintain database objects including logical and physical data model packages, procedures, and advanced SQL queriesSupport the production environment by identifying root cause for critical system issues to ensure timely resolution and minimize impact to business partnersDevelop and integrate data models and database objects per written specificationsDocument deployment and operational database standardsTune PL/SQL codeUp to 25% travel mainly CONUSMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or a High School Diploma and an additional 5 years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree5+ years of data engineering experience with SQL programming, database design and query tuningActive and current CompTIA Security+ Certification and OS Certification (Windows or Linux)Technical expertise in programming languages such as SQL, PL/SQL, OracleKnowledge and understanding of the ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processAbility to create database objects such as tables, views and stored proceduresPreferred ExperiencePostgreSQL, MySQL and SQL CRLTechnical Certifications in any of the following: Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, AWS Certified Database – Specialty, Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) – by DAMAClearance Requirements:US Citizenship is required and an Active Secret Security ClearancePhysical Requirements:Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printerThe person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
