Elementary Teacher - Overcomer Academy

• Demonstrated proficiency with Common Core State Standards.
• Demonstrated successful experience in implementing adopted curriculum.
• Demonstrated evidence of classroom management skills.
• Ability to effectively integrate technology in daily lessons and use multiple communication systems.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, and work with students, parents, staff, and community in an effective and positive manner.
• Directs and evaluates the learning experiences of the students in both curricular and co-curricular activities.
• The teacher uses multiple data elements (both formative and summative) to plan, inform and adjust instruction and evaluate student learning.
• The teacher communicates high expectations for student learning and evaluates individual students progress regularly while maintaining records for report cards and/or parent conferences.
• Participates in staff meetings and in-service training programs.
• Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, School Policies, and the Code of Conduct.
• The teacher fosters and manages a safe and inclusive learning environment that takes into account: physical, emotional, and intellectual well-being. Encourages students to develop courtesy, self-control, respect, and responsibility. Establishes clear parameters for student behavior in the classroom.
• Provide lesson plans for substitute teachers.
• Participate in extra-curricular responsibilities as necessary.
• The teacher participates collaboratively to improve instruction, advance the knowledge and practice of teaching as a profession, and ultimately impact student learning.
• Desired teacher characteristics include: flexibility, creativity, organization, ability to project enthusiasm and express ideas clearly, good classroom management skills, ability to use a variety of current instructional strategies, and a willingness to model behavior appropriate to the school community.
