Sets up, operates and maintains a variety of computer driven, optic scanning inserting machines, various folders, MLOCR barcoding/sorting system, makes minor repairs and adjustments to machines.Essential Functions
- Serves as a Mail Sorter.
- Sets up, operates and maintains a variety of non-intelligent as well as computer driven, optic scanning sorter for highly confidential client and provider notices, warrants and medical cards as well as other official correspondence.
- Sets up, operates and maintains a variety of computerized manifest, labeling and peripheral bindery equipment; makes ongoing repairs and adjustment to machines; maintains accountability and control record.
- Processes and prepares for distribution all computer listings, 552’s, payrolls, Medical billings and notices, Food Stamp notices, policy memoranda, manual releases and official Agency correspondence verifying compliance to Agency, State and Federal Regulations.
- Maintains, retrieves and updates both hard copy and automated distribution files, maintains accountability and control logs and prepares summary reports for same verifying compliance to Agency, State and Federal Regulations.
- Sorts incoming mail from the Post Office and other State agencies as well as mainframe produced reports and notices; sorts and prepares outgoing mail for pick-up by CMS or outside vendors as well as for delivery to the USPS or UPS, boxes weighing up to 50 lbs; serves as back-up driver for the various DHS mail routes as well as back-up at the Harris Complex Mail Room.
- Maintains personal work area and ensures common areas are picked up, clean and organized on a daily basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school.
- Requires one (1) year of experience in the print reproduction trade.
- One (1) year of experience operating a variety of high-volume mail sorting and inserting equipment machines.
- One (1) year of experience in maintenance and repair of mail equipment machines.
- One (1) year of experience following oral and written instructions.
- One (1) year of experience working with numerical data for a public or private organization.
- One (1) year developing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other employees.
- Requires the ability to lift over 50 lbs. and ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Requires the ability to travel locally.
- Requires the ability to operate a material handling equipment.
- Requires a valid driver’s license.
