Fire Stop Technician

• Testing the operability of fire & smoke dampers per NFPA code
• Testing of fire and smoke doors per NFPA Code
• Making non-accessible dampers accessible
• Inspection of firewalls per NFPA code
• Providing accurate documentation for customer code compliance
• Maintain professional, timely, communication with customers
• Attend Job Training Activities

• Valid Driver License
• 21 years of age (insurance reason)
• Pass background & drug test
• Travel – 10 days gone, 4 day- home rotation
• Must provide own tools
• Professional appearance

• Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision
• Interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers
• Work effectively as a team contribution all assignments
• Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations
• Experience in customer service and working with the public
• Experience in mechanical, HVAC, electrical repair and installation preferred, but not required
• Experience in carpentry, drywall, and insulation knowledge a plus
• Experience in fire stopping methodology helpful
• Ability to interpret life safety drawings
• Must have ability to work in a variety of circumstances including climbing ladders, scaffolds and high-lift equipment with maximum load of 250 lbs
• Must be able to work in ducts, crawl spaces and above ceilings that all have limited space
• Good recordkeeping and tracking of inspections in facilities
• Knowledge of computers (Word, Excel and Email)
