The primary function of a Crop Growing Area Craftsman is handling all aspects of what it takes to grow beautiful plants out in the field until they are ready to be shipped to our customer.What You'll DoYou'll be involved in various and responsibilities including, but not limited to the following:
  • Pruning plants using shears or automated pruning equipment.
  • Spacing, Staking and Tying, weeding.
  • Applying fertilizer on plants.
  • Lifting and moving plants of various sizes so that they are spaced appropriately.
  • Weeding and consolidating plants.
  • Assembling orders so that you are selecting only consistent quality plants, placing a tag on them correcting and loading them on field trailers and wagons for transport to the shipping dock.
  • Performs other related duties to benefit the mission of the company as assigned.
Who You Are
  • Ideally, you'll have experience working in agriculture.
  • You are open to feedback.
  • Can follow instructions and ask questions for better understanding.
  • You enjoy working in a team environment and being supportive of co-workers.
  • You are able to work in inclement weather conditions, i.e. hot, cold, and rainy.
  • Ideally, you'll have basic math, reading, and writing skills.
  • You are open to working extended hours: 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday during the off-season and 7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. on Saturdays during the peak but starting hours may vary based on business need.
  • You are able to lift up to 30 pounds repeatedly or 50+ pounds on occasion. You have the full range of mobility in your upper and lower body, can reach overhead and work in various positions including stooping, standing walking, bending over, and squatting; can lift, pull, and push materials, use hands and fingers to feel, handle plants or operate objects, tools or controls; are able to use close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus, all with or without a reasonable accommodation.
