Summary:Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in various construction projects.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staff for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workloads.
  • Collaborate with workers and managers to solve work-related problems.
  • Review work throughout the work process and at completion to ensure that it has been performed properly.
  • Transmit and explain work orders to laborers.
  • Check specifications of materials loaded or unloaded against information contained in work orders.
  • Inform designated employees or departments of items loaded or problems encountered.
  • Evaluate employee performance and prepare performance appraisals.
  • Perform the same work duties as those supervised or perform more difficult or skilled tasks or assist in their performance.
  • Prepare and maintain work records and reports of information such as employee time and wages, daily receipts, or inspection results.
Supervisory Responsibilities:May supervise up to 10 employees.Requirements:Perform a variety of duties which may often change; work within standards of accuracy. Must be able to stand or walk for long periods; use arms and hands to reach for, handle and manipulate objects; lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds, climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects; carry tools and equipment; stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl; see and hear well (naturally or with correction). Ability to read and interpret blueprints, documents, instructions, and procedure manuals. Routine report writing. Effective communication skills vital.Education and Experience:High school diploma preferred. Two years related supervisory experience. CPR, First Aid and Confined Space Entry certifications.
