Job Title: CDL Truck DriverDate: 6/4/25Reports to: Operations Manager- Dover, DEJob Summary:
  • We are a construction supply and delivery company seeking a delivery driver to deliver building materials to job sites, and returning home daily. As a delivery driver, you will ensure the safety of each delivery from the moment you leave the facility until you have completed each job.
Qualifications:· Commercial Driving: 1 year (preferred)· Driving: 3 years (preferred)· CDL B (preferred)Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Transport and deliver freight over the road in a safe, efficient, timely and legal manner.
  • Secure freight; tarp and un-tarp freight if operating flatbeds.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and maintain records required under state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Ensure that all operations are in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Operates company vehicles in a safe manner, being aware of not causing damage to driveways, buildings, or other areas of job sites.
  • Following route directions and unloading material where assigned.
  • Perform routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects/repairs to Company personnel.
  • Perform lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying freight.
  • Working with customers in determining where to set the materials, and physically unloading the materials
  • Represent the Company in a professional manner in all interactions with customers and company personnel.
  • Consistently works in a safe, non-violent and courteous manner
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalency;
  • Must have at least a CDL Class B license
  • Knowledge of all applicable DOT Regulations and Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
  • Meet all standards (medical, safety, etc.) required by the DOT and pass required pre-employment and random drug/alcohol test
  • Acceptable background investigation results.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
Physical and Special Requirements:· Able to squat, crouch and reach as needed to handle freight; able to enter and exit the vehicle’s cab numerous times each day· Able to lift and carry freight weighing up to 80 pounds on a daily basis· Able to handle, install and remove freight and/or special equipment weighing up to 80 pounds including chains, straps, tarps, tiedowns, etc.· Able to pass a drug test (upon hire, and then at random thereafter)· Must be able to work in severe weather conditions—both heat and cold· Boom truck experience is not required, but is a plus
  • May include occasional travel to multiple Edgemont Stone & Supply Co. location(s) (e.g. Folcroft, PA; Dover, DE) for training, delivery, or other purposes
