We are driven by our mission to promote regional farm diversity and economic stability by the means of organic agricultural methods and the sale of certified organic products.Summary of RoleThe Retail Store Associate facilitates retail sales for the CROPP Cooperative Retail Store located in La Farge or Cashton and collaborates with the Retail Store Supervisor to create processes for routine sales combined with specific promotions as needed. This role provides support for OV/OP and additional vendors including trade partners and select local vendors that supply product to retail.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide great customer service and handle challenges with a positive attitude.
  • Work with Customer Service, Transportation, and Cashton Warehouse staff to coordinate and confirm information regarding product deliveries to the CROPP Retail Store location.
  • Respond to requests, provide information and fulfill special orders for customers.
  • Maintain the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements and store policy.
Operating Retail Store/Café
  • Open store/café for business day, using established process.
  • Routine stocking of Retail Store (dairy, grocery, produce, general merchandise and meat) and of Corner Stores snack kiosks/vending in CROPP facilities.
  • Order, merchandise, and maintain appropriate inventory for all vendor products and manage shrink accordingly.
  • Receive incoming products and supplies, verify quality and quantity of all incoming shipments.
  • Report product concerns to appropriate departments or vendors.
  • Load and unload product from trucks to back stock and merchandising areas.
  • Transfer and post product into Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
  • Maintain full shelf inventory by stocking and restocking in routine sequence.
  • Ensure merchandising of products creates a full and fresh appearance.
  • Monitor product code dates and implement sales as appropriate.
  • Understand SKUs that deserve space in the Retail Store, adjust as required.
  • Process customer transactions using the POS system.
  • Provide customer service with detailed, helpful information about products and pricing.
  • Report technical issues and pricing issues to Supervisor.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by routine cycle counts and inventory adjustments as needed for all products.
  • Close store for business day: reconcile cash drawer with sales and ready bank deposit using established procedures.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
  • Attend and participate in retail department meetings.
  • Complete additional retail trainings as necessary or as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • One to three years of retail experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft systems, ERP/Retail POS systems strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Social Media platforms preferred.
  • Clear verbal and written communication.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment and across multiple departments.
  • Ability to prioritize and adapt to address changing work environments and demands.
  • Ability to work independently and to coordinate projects and processes.
  • Organization skills essential.
  • Ability to operate a forklift, pallet jacks, rolling carts preferred.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 40 pounds regularly, occasionally lift up to 70 pounds with assistance, ability to push/pull objects up to 1,500 pounds using material handling equipment.
  • Must be able to perform physical work in a variety of positions and at various heights; includes bending, stooping, reaching and twisting of arms and body movement as well as walking and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in varying temperatures.
  • Ability to work evenings and Saturdays as assigned or requested.
  • Flexibility to work at both La Farge and Cashton locations, should the need arise.
Base salary/hourly wage range: $15.00 per hour - $18.85 per hour
The typical hourly wage for a new hire is $16.00 an hour. This hourly wage range is exclusive of fringe benefits. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary bonuses. If you are hired at CROPP, your final base salary/hourly wage compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. Additionally, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that entry-level candidates to this role should expect to be at the lower end of the salary/hourly wage range and hiring at the maximum of the salary/hourly wage range is not typical.Benefits
