Applicants should have the ability to:
Provide technical support to Maintenance and Operations in diagnosing equipment issues, develop repair scopes, deliver quality assurance (QA) of repairs, and monitor equipment for obsolescence.
Interface with Control Systems Engineers (CSEs), Control Systems Specialists (CSSs), CS instrument crafts as well as Project Engineers/Inspectors and vendor/manufacturer's representatives all to provide reliable, accurate tank monitoring and to enable the 24x7 operation of the site.
Provide scope development and execution of installation and commissioning of tank monitoring instrumentation. This typically consists of implementation of technologies to measure level, pressure, temperature, and other measurements required by Production.
Ability to coordinate and manage multiple tank projects simultaneously.
Perform Long Term Proactive Monitoring (LTPM) activities which include use of Emerson's AMS application (where applicable) to catch instrument failures before they happen.
Ensure I&PC documentation is kept updated, and maintain Management of Change (MOCs).
Specify new equipment and replacements of obsolete equipment.
Coordinate single-discipline MOCs. Complete MOC evaluation and Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) items for changes in assigned area. Assist with PSSRs.
Review instrumentation system revisions through MOCs for compliance with site standards and strategies.
Review completed Capital Projects with Project CSEs to ensure all required deliverables are provided and complete.
Provide technical support for instrument related hardware (DCS, PLC, transmitters, valves, tank gauge systems).
Demonstrate interpersonal skills, negotiating skills, networking ability and the ability to manage multiple interfaces with varying needs and priorities are critical factors for this position.
Ability to prioritize demands from stakeholders while engaging and communicating with them on progress and priorities.
Detailed knowledge of engineering documentation (P&IDs, loop wiring diagrams) and troubleshooting methodology
Build relationships with other disciplines, maintenance, production and suppliers.
Demonstrated analytical and decision making skills.
Awareness skill in Control System Engineering experience preferably with Emerson Delta V DCS.
Requirements:
10+ years of Instrumentation experience, ideally at large refining and/or petrochemical facilities
Previous job role as an Instrument Craft, Discipline Coordinator, Foreman, Planner or Inspector.
Ability to meet the cut score on the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Written Skill Assessment
Ability to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug/alcohol test and applicable background checks
Associate's degree in Instrumentation
