- Coordinates and transports clients safely to all daily activities, ensuring the clients arrive on time to all scheduled activities, and ensures client safety.
- Utilizes intervention and communication skills in working with clients.
- Monitor and document client self-administration medications while coaching clients in self-management and documenting medications in accordance with the organization’s policy on medication use. Report any deficiencies
- Facilitating therapeutic and life skills base activities
- Provide healthcare services in clients residences
- Perform domestic and household tasks
- Assist with client's personal care activities
- Monitor clients and report their condition
- Collect routine specimens (UAs)
- Provide companionship and basic emotional or psychological support
- Adherence to JACHO and state client standards
- Daily walk-throughs of facility establishing a consistent presence and awareness of client behavior
- Encouraging socially acceptable habits and behaviors (personal hygiene, grooming, table manners, etc.)
- Enforcing policies and procedures
- Compassion. Boundaries. Time management.
- Knowledge: Understanding principles and practices of community-based mental health programs, facility therapy, crisis intervention, group counseling, individual counseling theory and technique, and belief in the principles of client-centered treatment.
- Enrollment in an LVN Program, Psych Tech Certification, CDAC Certification, CNA Certification, Bachelors Degree in Human Services or related discipline, preferred.
- Ability to perform duties as a counselor with respect to screening, assessment, individualized treatment planning, crisis intervention, group and individual interventions, case management, referral, discharge summaries, and professional ethics
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with subordinate staff, supervisors, utilization review, manage health care clinicians, medical and mental health professional
- Ability to positively interact with and develop rapport with clients and their families
- Desire to assist those with chemical dependency in their recovery
- Ability to maintain culture of care conducive to maximum benefit of clients and staff
- Proven work experience in treatment or similar setting
- Ability to monitor vital signs and to collect specimens
- Familiarity with basic nutrition and personal hygiene standards
- Proficiency in English
- Caring and compassionate personality
- Valid Drivers License
- Current CPR certificate
- First Aid training
- Negative TB test results within the past year
- Medical Clearance to work within the past year
- Ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug screenings
- Ability to lift/carry 20 lbs.
- Moderate frequency of computer keyboarding
- Moderate frequency of viewing a computer monitor
