- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on hotel equipment, systems, and guest rooms.
- Repair plumbing issues such as leaks, clogs, and malfunctioning fixtures.
- Fix or replace electrical components like outlets, switches, light fixtures, and appliances.
- Maintain HVAC systems (air conditioning, heating, ventilation).
- Repair or adjust furniture, doors, windows, and locks.
- Perform basic carpentry, painting, plastering, and drywall repairs.
- Respond quickly to guest service requests for in-room maintenance issues.
- Ensure minimal disruption to guests while performing repairs.
- Communicate politely and professionally with guests and staff.
- Monitor hotel facilities for safety hazards (e.g., loose railings, wet floors, exposed wiring).
- Follow OSHA and local building safety regulations.
- Maintain fire safety equipment (alarms, extinguishers, sprinklers) in working condition.
- Ensure proper functioning of security systems, locks, and surveillance equipment.
- Conduct scheduled inspections of mechanical systems, elevators, and common areas.
- Document maintenance activities and keep accurate service records.
- Identify potential issues early and resolve them before they impact guests.
- Work closely with housekeeping, front desk, and management teams to address issues promptly.
- Report major repair needs or equipment replacement to supervisors.
- Assist outside contractors or vendors when specialized repairs are needed.
- Maintain outdoor areas (parking lots, landscaping, walkways, pool areas).
- Remove snow, ice, or debris to ensure safe access for guests.
- Handle basic upkeep of hotel signage, lighting, and exterior appearance.
- Respond promptly to urgent situations such as power outages, plumbing floods, or fire alarms.
- Assist in evacuations or emergency protocols as required.
- Proven experience in maintenance work, preferably in a hotel or similar environment.
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Ability to perform basic repairs and operate maintenance tools and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent; further technical training is a plus.
- Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety guidelines.
