A leading manufacturing company is seeking a Senior Buyer to manage strategic procurement of materials, components, and services in support of production operations. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented supply chain professional with strong negotiation skills, deep knowledge of manufacturing processes, and proven experience leveraging ERP systems for purchasing efficiency. Working cross-functionally, the new hire will contribute to operational continuity and cost optimization by securing high-quality supplies on time while strengthening vendor relationships and supporting production and engineering teams.Salary + Additional Benefits:

Location: Elkhorn, WI - FULLY ON-SITE
Type of Position: Direct HireResponsibilities:
  • Procurement Operations: Source and purchase raw materials, production supplies, and outsourced services required for manufacturing operations.
  • Vendor Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers. Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to ensure optimal value and performance.
  • Cost & Budget Management: Monitor and control material costs to align with departmental and organizational budgets. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or delivery.
  • Inventory & Planning: Collaborate with inventory control and production planning teams to maintain appropriate stock levels and prevent material shortages or excesses.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate purchase records and ensure proper documentation for audits and financial reporting. Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and support lean manufacturing principles.
  • Confidentiality & Judgment: Exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality in all purchasing and supplier relationship matters.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong Excel skills include pivot tables and VLOOKUP’s, MS Word
  • Strong experience with SAP or AS/400 very helpful
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Extremely detail-oriented
  • Understanding international tariffs helpful
  • Strong negotiating and networking skills
  • Able to thrive in a high-stress and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well within a team and individually
  • Bilingual or multilingual helpful
  • Occasional travel may be required; require flexibility and a willingness to travel when necessary
